The Ontology Engineering Group is at the top-ten of research groups at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). It is based on the School of Computer Science at UPM. Its research areas cover Ontological Engineering, Semantic Web and Linked Data, Semantics in Open Science, and Data-Driven Language Technologies. We have developed applications in a wide range of domains, including knowledge management, environment, e-commerce, job market, funding, geospatial, libraries, etc.

Profile: Computer Science Degree/Master's Degree in Computer Science

Job vacancy: Semantic technologies developer

Job responsibilities:

• Design and development of domain ontologies aligned with EMMO and MTO standards for knowledge representation in nuclear materials science.
• Extension and loading of nuclear materials data sources, such as the ENTENTE database.
• Deployment of a virtualisation layer over databases, such as ENTENTE, including the development of RML mappings and the exposure of a SPARQL endpoint.
• Integration of heterogeneous data sources into a federated knowledge system, ensuring compliance with FAIR principles and semantic interoperability.

Specific requirements:

• Candidates must be tax residents in Spain, or be willing to become tax residents in Spain. The office is located in Boadilla del Monte, near Madrid, Spain.

Mandatory requirements:

• The ability to work to tight deadlines is essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
